I think the sign of a good personal stylist is one that can show you how to buy the very best quality you can afford and how to become a savvy shopper to build a wardrobe that will surpass trends and express your Style ID. (hint: understanding fabric choices, how to shop designer sales and expanding your knowledge of brands is key)
These are some of the looks inspiring my Autumn Style right now and it fits perfectly with my Style Id which is CLASSIC BUT DARING
My role as personal stylist is not to make you someone else, but to help you elevate your style so you can show up everyday as the very best version of yourself. I will introduce you to new labels and most likely encourage you to spend more in some areas than you would normally and all for good reason. I want to help you understand the very visceral effect wearing clothes made from quality fabrics, finished beautifully and that fit impeccably has on all areas of your life and how your personal style helps to communicate what you value.
Of course everyone has different budgets, so I wanted to show how I have created two identical 6-piece Autumn capsules with a focus on quality fabrics and versatile pieces using an Australian designer brand and an Australian fashion retailer. Of course, you could also create your own capsule using pieces from each. Also each piece can easily work back with many other items you might already own. For example you could team the caramel blazer with blue or white denim or the leather pants with a gorgeous coat or chunky knit. The key when adding to your wardrobe is to ensure the pieces add value to what you already own.
I personally shop at both brands - my Scanlan Theodore leather pants are the best I have owned and the fit is much better on me compared to Country Road, so that is a personal preference based on what suits my body shape.
Love to hear your thoughts on this so feel free to drop into my email if you have some feedback!
