STYLE MASTERCLASS: How To Style Your Little Black Dress For Autumn

If you do love shopping as much as me, then the turn of a new season probably makes you very happy. It’s a time to change up your look a bit, perhaps pull out pieces you haven’t been able to wear in a while and of course shop for some pieces that will update your winter wardrobe.

But before you go spending all your hard earned cash on every “trend” popping up - yes, I know they all look so good! - think about how you can potentially build upon the pieces you already have in your wardrobe to make your look feel more current or what classic piece you can add first that will last from winter through to the other seasons.

For me it has to be the Little Black Dress. It’s a a wardrobe main stay and what I like to call a foundation piece of the Classic Core Wardrobe.

Here i show you 7 stylist-approved black dresses that you can dress up or down - and as I said before you may already have one similar in your wardrobe, or if you are on the lookout for a new one, these ones get my tick of approval because they have great silhouettes and can all be worn day or night.
Top Tip: to create highlight, flatter or create shape through the waist go for the styles that have a belt, waist-tie or some detail at the waist like a knot.

Want to update a black dress you already own? Add some animal print. Yes it’s a a big print trend for winter, however the beauty of animal print is that is also tends to come in every season, so I do like to think of leopard print, snake print and zebra print as being a “classic print”.
